FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about TLS for both parents, donors, and sponsors.

Is the school really tuition-free?

Yes! We offer scholarships to all eligible students (see next question) but require parents to contribute $20 per month in addition to 10 volunteer hours per semester (20 hours per year). Please click here for more information.

How is the school funded?

Operating costs are funded through the philanthropy of generous friends and supporters.
This model allows our school the independence to create a unique curriculum and program that offers an invaluable educational opportunity to our students.

Although Archbishop Lori is very supportive of TLS’s mission, the school—like all the Jesuit-sponsored schools in the Baltimore area—is part of the USA East Province Jesuits and is responsible for its own finances. Our school does receive public support from the Maryland State Department of Education through the food reimbursement program and the Maryland Child Care Scholarships program.
